Hi

I've been working on the Gold Coast as a professional photographer since 1988, when I opened a '1 Hour' Photo lab and portrait studio at Nobby Beach.

Because of my contacts with the Gold Coast entertainment scene, I was soon contracted to photograph the events at various Gold Coast nightclubs. During this period, if you were ever at Beach Road, Cocktails and Dreams, Players, The Tunnel, or The Esplanande night clubs, I probably have a photo of you somewhere in my files. Oh yes, and also the famous Cugini Restaurant parties hosted by Fabio, Roberto,Marco and Lisa.

The lab was sold in 1997 to enable me to concentrate more on photography and also to train others to create fine images or just enjoy their hobby more.

I'm probably best known as the photographer for 'Shooters Saloon Bar' (a contract that lasted for 11 enjoyable years) and also as the photography lecturer for Gold Coast TAFE - Adult Community Education, Learning Network Qld, and Central Queensland University.

With a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training, I was also the Qld and Northern NSW Training Manager (18 months) for the National Photo Training College, conducting training, and assessing trainees in the Photographic Retail Industry Traineeship Certificate II and III. With monthly visits to trainees based in major coastal locations from Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Hervey Bay, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Ballina, and Coffs Harbour then west to Tamworth, Armidale, Chinchilla and Mt Isa, time for family and photography was limited. During this period photography was going through a major change, with the advent of digital photography and digital cameras revitalising an interest in photography across all levels of society.

So, when an offer to manage the Camera Department at Domayne's Gold Coast store was made, I couldn't refuse. The opportunity to be involved at the cutting edge of the latest photographic digital technology was exciting and a great way to get 'hands-on' experience. According to the Qld representative for Konica Minolta -Justine Townsend (also a former photography student of mine) - I was personally responsible for more Konica Minolta SLR sales than anyone else in Qld. I still use my trusty Konica Minolta 7D, but will probably upgrade very soon.

Since mid 2006 I've been back to the photography, as well as developing an interest in real estate.

Below are some more of the many corporate clients who have used my photography/training skills and services:-
